Each type is designed to be modular and comes as a kit form to be erected on site with minimal disruption to the occupiers without the use of any heavy machinery.

TOILET AND BATH FINAL PS.jpg

Foundation

The well insulated cabins sit on screw piles which are interconnected by treated timber ring beams.

Main structure

The entire structure is made from SIPS panels using high quality 15 mm OSB
externally and internally with 200 mm of insulation.
There is an additional layer of insulation externally to minimise any thermal bridging.

External
Timber battens and attached externally and clad with thermowood or corrugated metal cladding (optional) to achieve contemporary aesthetic.

Internal

There is a membrane that makes it airtight to minimise any air leakage and heat loss. Timber battens and (?) installed and plasterboard (or similar finishes applied)

Indoor air quality

Most of us spend much of our time indoors. The air that we breathe in our homes, in schools and in offices can put us at risk of health problems. Some pollutants can be chemicals, gases and living organisms like mold and pests.

Several sources of air pollution are in our homes, schools and offices. Some pollutants cause health problems such as sore eyes, burning in the nose and throat, headaches, or fatigue. Other pollutants cause or worsen allergies, respiratory illnesses (such as asthma), heart disease, cancer and other serious long-term conditions. Sometimes individual pollutants at high concentrations, such as carbon monoxide, which could be fatal.

Airtightness targets
The Passivhaus airtightness target is < 0.6 ACH-1 @ 50 Pa for newly built projects
and < 1.0 ACH-1

Mechanical ventilation and heat recovery system (MVHR)

Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery is an energy efficient way of maintaining a fresh and healthy indoor air quality in the home whilst saving considerably on heating bills. It works by extracting the warm, moist air from rooms such as bathrooms and kitchens where condensation is a major factor.  The unwanted air is passed through a heat exchanger then ducted to outside.  Fresh air from outside is drawn in and passing through the heat exchanger; recovering up to 90% of the heat taken from the extracted
air. Iit is then circulated throughout the house encouraging positive air circulation.
